Memento - de La Hèle - Rihm - Pärt - Lassus
MEMENTO contains a magnificent mass setting by the largely and definitely undeservedly unknown Franco-Flemish Renaissance composer George de La Hèle and, also long overdue for recording, the final three Passiontide motets that complete the cycle of seven motets that Wolfgang Rihm, Germany′s leading composer, wrote for Singer Pur in the past few years. To round it all up there is another great work that gave the CD its name:
Memento by Arvo Pärt, based on old Slavonic chant.
