Jeremiah - Singer Pur with David Orlowsky
ECHO Klassik Award 2011
A unique symbiosis of fascinating Renaissance music and poetic clarinet playing:
Our common goal was an homage to the great masters of Renaissance sacred polyphony: exemplary Palestrina and daring Gesualdo. For this project we open the path of purist historical performance practice to improvisation and further composition: while Singer Pur sings what the sources have transmitted to our time, David Orlowsky adds his clarinets’ voice weaving in and out of the texture, sometimes in free improvisation, sometimes in Matan Porat’s composed improvisation so to speak.
“David Orlowsky’s dreamy melodies are velvety, almost gossamer to the ear.”
